Team ScioNRG was first formed back in March of 2004 when Omar Chavez (Founder) posted on ScionLife who wanted to meet up and share some stories and share each other’s passion for the Scion brand. A few weeks later the first meet was held at a coffee shop in NYC where about 6 cars showed up. From that point the interest grew and the amount people that wanted to be part of Team ScioNRG doubled. During the 2004 season we met at different local events and few car shows. More chapters were added as time went by as in less then a few months NRG was more than just a local team.
Currently we have over 10 chapters nationwide including Alabama, California, Indiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and growing. We are currently the second largest Scion Team in the US with over 1000 members and growing each day.
What do we do?
We get together at least once a month to meet each other, talk about our cars, and admire the uniqueness of each Scion. We attend local car show events, as well as Scion sponsored events such as Exposed and the VIP series. Some of our members participate in professional car shows including Hot Import Nights, NHRA Summer Nationals and NOPI. We have won numerous trophies, such as "Best Team" three years in a row at the Exposed event, Best Scion at Hot Import Nights, Best Scion Mild & Wild categories at The Carlisle Modified Madness event and more! In 2008 the team won the “Most Enthusiastic Team” award from Scion Corp. Team ScioNRG has been featured on FuseTV’s Driven Stories and has been filmed for various Scion Corp. videos. Team ScioNRG has also been in numerous webzines and articles on Edmunds.com, helloscion.com, sciondrivetour.com, pressroom.toyota.com, and more!
What are the requirements to join?
There are no fees and no catches. The only requirements that we have are that you own a Scion and love it. It doesn’t matter whether you have had your car for 2 years and is highly modified or have had your car for a few days and is completely stock! You are welcomed to the team and will not be discriminated upon!
