Found this on a random search after having browsed the headunit section in a Best Buy:

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... /DEH-80PRS

This is what I've been looking for ever since the DEH-P880PRS and DEH-P800PRS was discontinued. I love my P880, since it has a nice classy 2-knob setup, an iPod controller (which was an extra module, but I bought it when I had it installed back in late 2006), and a nice responsive display and UI. And most of all, it had an auto-EQ and auto-time adjust function, where you could set up a microphone in the driver's seat and let the headunit automatically adjust the equalizers, making for a nice loyal sound response.

But for years, the "mid-market" 1-DIN headunit fell out; you could only buy cheap stuff with not enough EQ channels and no auto EQ, or the DEX-P99RS, which has all the functions of the DEH-P880PRS, but the headunit alone costs $1200, and the headunit has NO preamps, meaning that you must buy a power amp to hear any sound at all. The P99RS is a really nice headunit for planning out full systems with separate amps, but I can't have a separate amp because that would add extra weight and extra complexity.

But then I see the DEH-80PRS, and they did it. They got back to the functionality level of the P880. Now I don't have to search around for a 1-DIN headunit for the FR-S. It even has back-mounted USB ports, so you can run your own cable to the glovebox to keep the iPod out of sight. It's beautiful.

I just ordered one; hopefully it will arrive in a few days. I didn't buy a harness yet, though I'll probably have to buy one to be able to wire it up.
