Alright, as most of you know I ended up trading the tC in for a WRX. I've always always always wanted a WRX. :woohoo

First Mod: Get rid of those god awful OEM chrome "altezza" tails. I ended up using Metalcast paint and tinting them and the third brake light.

Love your new obsession! :thumbup :thumbup :clap

I'm looking at the RS 8.0 xB myself... haven't decided yet. Would depend on whether or not I can sell the D. :)

I've had a lot of people say "don't drop" but I dunno... that front end is calling for a slight drop. I'd like to put it on coils so I can adjust between summer/winter driving.

those cars have massive potential

they dont even need to be stance. but that is way too much wheel gap - even something like a 2" drop would do great for handling and even better for appearance.

Have you thought of what sort of rims youd like to run on it?

jealous about the hatch with a system - bass is going to sound so much better with all that extra room compared to the tc's faux hatch

smh... this is a subaru... not an VW!

leave the stretch and poke to the germans and ricers...

anyways, you wont be able to change the springs alone, the rear are already max'd out from the factory with the stock springs. You'd have to go with coils or a spring/strut combo.

1) stretch, poke, dumped, tucked, flush....and most of all hellaflush are how cars look their best (performance put aside).

2) we said coilovers

3) i dont even count you a tC owner

Whoaaaaaaaa

I would go coils. I don't want to slam it, and sorry, those scoobys may look nice, but that's not the route I want to go at all. I just want A SLIGHT reduction, something a tad lower, but nothing crazy.

But coils are expensive and I have other life things going on, so that's a very very very long way down the road from now.

I loved my tC but it was just time to move on.

Imo, when you take away the performance from a performance vehicle regardless of how it makes the car look i dislike it.

Not a tC owner anymore? You are right about that but i did own 3 of them. All were lowered. After "slamming" one of them i will never do it again. Function always over fashion.

What does that comment even mean?

As an engineering student, I totally agree with function>form. Bonus if it looks good too.

one of my best friends stanced his 2010 WRX wagon (kind of) without losing too much driveability. I'm surprised considering how low his is all the places we can go. he used coils and will be swapping them back to stock for the winter. the tradeoff: ride quality and handling. the suspension travel is limited to what the tires will flex so you feel EVERY bump, and at highway speeds, you can feel the back end slide a bit in quick lane changes. it does look good though. we've gone on a few long trips through mass and into connecticut without scraping anywhere, it blows my mind.
