I simply wanted to start a thread where those of us who want to can say a few words or post a thought or tribute to those we lost on this day 10 years ago... My little tribute...

I remember 9/11 as a day when the worst of humanity and the best of humanity were present in the same moments of time, when those we take for granted became heroes, when evil showed its ugly face and was defeated with all that is good in the hearts and souls of ordinary people. I will never forget and will always lift the families effected up to our Lord in prayer. Your memory will live on forever lifted on the wings of Eagles to the Heavens above.

exactly!
i was the longest day ever with lots of waiting to hear 'word' from everyone.....our 'home base' at that time was the bar i tended at in LB. my friend was on the opening shift & by 12noon the place was packed, yet silent, as we all just sat there watching the TVs, listening to other cell phone calls as they received word from loved ones, friends, co-workers, HS pals, etc....sitting & waiting.....will never forget <3

i havent been down to ground zero & still not ready to go & see....chris has gone a few times now with the different charity police escort runs...my last memories of WTC was going to the bar (shocking i cant remember the name of it but it was the known one that everyone went to back then) in the one building for happy hour with friends time after time. this was before they bombed it the first time so probably 1991 or so....i think id rather keep that memory of the fun good times

Exactly :thumbup

I really dont remember much of it, since I did miss alot of the commotion. I just remember walking into my 8th grade earth science class and the look on my teachers face when he told us the towers are no more. That was just insanity.

I do wish I had made it to see the towers when they were still standing. Would of been something cool to do, but I guess that ship has long sailed. :(

I was at work, and a friend of mine at work told me that our friend was on flt 11. I tried to keep her calm and tell her that we really weren't sure. Later I found the flight itinerary on the fax machine and that confirmed it for me. We later had an all-employee meeting where I found out someone else I knew was also on the first plane. I spent my first wedding anniversary at my friends memorial service.
Ten years later it still feels like yesterday.
In the days following, it warmed my heart to see all the flags flying and the country so together. It is a shame we are so divided today. It's the toxic political environment today that keeps us from really being a great country today. We have to move away from 'us' and 'them'.....to be US. I hope that happens in my lifetime.
